So, my lovely wife is a one time resident of the great country of Germany. She brings back interesting tid-bits from their culture. She speaks their language very well, she has a bit of their humor, and she brought back this mulled wine recipe that is so simple and delicious that it is a Xmas tradition.
Gluehwein (gloo vine)
2.5 cups of red wine. 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water. 2 cloves, 3 slices of oranges, and 2 slices of lemon.
1. Add the water, sugar, cloves, and fruit into a pot, stir, boil for ~ 5 minutes.
2. Put heat on low, add 2.5 cups of wine. Heat until piping hot and serve.
You’ll know it’s done when the stuff has seeped into the oranges and lemons.
Happy Holidays!
Also we made XMas cookies!!

PIPA is just as bad as SOPA. Call your rep’s people. I mean, you really should given that the text of these bills has material impact to how your use Tumblr every day. That or you won’t be able to post screen caps of Harry Potter and Sherlock anymore.
Ever wanted to garden during the winter but you don’t have the space for a proper greenhouse?

Every year for 4 years I have put together a Christmas holiday card in the form of a 30-40 minute DVD. I take all the videos and the pictures of the kids and our adventures over the year, set the various scenes to fun music and send it out. It’s the audio visual equivalent of the yearly family update letter from years past, but people really enjoy this a lot more. It takes about two months to put together and it is well worth the effort. Each Christmas we throw the vids into the DVD player and re-live all our great memories set to music. What sort of things are you doing for the holiday?
