Finished!
I installed a new lock, and slide bolt. The gate is now completely functional and will keep my toddler penned safely in the backyard.
I reused several pieces and the hinges. I even had a remnant of a pallet that I’d left over from my wall building project from a few weeks ago. I repurposed some of the pieces of that old thing into the design to shore it up a bit.
The wife is happy, so that is all that matters (it’s her birthday!).
I’m just glad it can be opened, closed, and locked easily. I’ve been putting this simple project off for 3 years. I’m so glad I finally made time for it.
